MUSIC MINISTRY
St. Paul's has a vibrant music program, with lots of opportunities for you to give musical expression to the wide range of emotions that belong to a rich spiritual life. One such opportunity comes each Sunday through our choir. All are welcome to join (if you can sing in the shower, then you can sing in our choir). Except in the summer months, we meet on Thursday evenings from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. We also have a practice before church on Sunday mornings at 9 a.m. (or 8:30 if necessary).
About 16 amazing singers make up our adult choir.
If you are interested, or have questions, feel free to join us on any Thursday evening without obligation, or phone the choir President, Pat Freedman, at 905-631-5568. If you prefer, please phone the church office at 905-845-3427 and leave a message.
If you have been thinking about it – don’t think any longer – just pick up the phone or plan to join us on any Thursday evening
"The Joyful Noise"
This choir is made up of enthusiastic young singers ranging in age from 3 to 12. They meet throughout the year at 9:15 every Sunday morning. They sing periodically at our Sunday worship services and the Childrens Christmas Service. We really encourage new members. A fun time is had by all.
We are really excited about our new Youth Choir
Ages: Gr. 7 and above
Practices are every other Sunday at 11:45 am in the Sanctuary
We will be learning music to be performed in worship service as well as in the Christmas season Carolfest and Christmas Eve.
All our music is performed in church with a live band (bass, drums, guitar and piano)
Students who are interested in being "apprentice musicians" with the band are also welcome.

The music we sing is upbeat, contemporary praise/worship music. It is important that the melodies are beautiful to sing, but also that the songs have a good beat and are inspiring to learn. It's kind of like singing with a rock band! Catherine , our amazing leader is also very picky about choosing words that are relevant and inspiring to the youth in the choir. We sing in unison and in simple parts.
Native of Oakville, soprano Catherine Arcand-Pinette is an active performer and recitalist. She has been featured as a soloist in works including the B Minor Mass by J.S. Bach, Handel’s Messiah and Vaughan Williams’ Magnificat and has studied various operatic roles including Cherubino in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro and Carmen in Bizet’s Carmen. Catherine has also been featured in many musical theatre productions including Crazy for You, Pirates of Penzance and Nunsense as well as performing throughout Southern Ontario as a member of the jazz trio Trio Bella with the Swing Shift Big Band. Ms. Arcand-Pinette recently completed a MMus from the University of Western Ontario where she was very active in the Early Music Studio studying Baroque and Classical chamber music. She has also taken part in the Tafelmusik Baroque Summer Institute under the directorship of Ivars Taurins. Her paper “Getting a Handel on Baroque Pitch” was chosen to be presented as a part of the 2006 CUMS Conference at York University. Catherine has been teaching Voice and Musical Theatre at the Merriam School of Music for 11 years and is currently the soprano soloist with the Oakville Ensemble.
Do you want to sing contemporary praise music that's exciting, fun and revelant. Come see what all the fuss is about.
We are blessed with music leadership from three gifted people, Ross Stretton (music director) and Bev. Philips (Joyful Noise choir director) and Catherine Arcand-Pinette (youth choir director)
Musicians within the Congregation
We have many talented musicians who play an assortment of
