Friday - March 2, 2012 is World Day of Prayer

WDP is a global ecumenical movement which brings Christians of many traditions together to observe a common day of prayer each year. “Oakville has hosted a World Day of Prayer service since 1957”. This year the women of Malaysia have written the liturgy for the World Day of Prayer entitled "Let Justice Prevail". The service will be held at 1:30 pm at St. Aidan’s Anglican Church, 318 Queen Mary Dr.  Ph.:905-845-6111. (nearest intersection Kerr & Stewart St). Proceeds from the World Day of Prayer services go towards the cost of distributing WDP resources throughout Canada (most at no charge) and to support the work of Women's Inter-Church Council of Canada in ecumenism, spirituality, social justice and issues affecting women. Some $60,000 received last year at the services was distributed through various grants, which are listed on the back of this year's order of service.
