Our Children
Sunday School
Beginning in January for 6 weeks the Children will learn about Daniel. "Was he the guy in with
the lions and what about those three fellows who were thrown into the fire?"

Come out and find out.! Join with others in the kitchen making yummy goodies, play games and learn all about Daniel. We promise it will be fun.
Lighting up the World with God’s Love!
No longer will we call ourselves the Explorers, Trekkers, Travelers and Adventurers but we will be the Live Wires, the Lasers, and Fusion. These names all point to the message that we, as Christians, are called to share the Light of Jesus with the world.

The Live Wires will be children who were born in 2003, 2004 and 2005.

The Lasers will be children who were born in 2002, 2001, and 2000.

Fusion will be children who were born in 1998 and 1999.
A Roaring Good Time
Children in Junior Kindergarten and Senior Kindergarten, as well as some friends who are three years of age, will be in the Lion’s Sunday school class. Each week the Lion’s learn a Bible story, sing songs, play games, and do a special craft. We have three amazing teachers this year who will dedicate their time to making sure that the children in the Lion’s will have a roaring good time.
Nursery
Our Nursery is a wonderful, bright, sun filled room with lots of toys for the infants and children up to three years of age to enjoy. Our Nursery worker, Tessa, who is an ECE student, will greet you on Sunday morning with a welcoming smile. We will also have a volunteer in the nursery working with Tessa to provide a safe and happy environment for the youngest ones of our congregation.
Monday Mornings
Tots and Us is a program geared for Moms, Dads and Grandparents who are looking after preschool children. It’s a low key program which gives the caregiver an opportunity to meet with other adults from the community and hopefully encourages a few friendships.
The children have a variety of things to keep them busy, e.g. play dough, puzzles, colouring, ride toys, blocks and dress-up. After playtime, we gather in our small gym for a time of music and stories. Everyone is encouraged to join in. To end our time together, there is juice and cookies for the children and tea or coffee for the adults.
We meet every Monday morning, unless there is a holiday, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., mid-September through to early May. Dates can be found on the Church sign and also in the Oakville Beaver, our local newspaper. We have about 30 children enrolled this year.
For further information please call the Church office at 905 845-3427.
Ongoing Events
Puppet Ministry
St. Paul’s is fortunate to have a puppet ministry. We started back in 2002 with a stage and three puppets. We now have a large variety of puppets for all occasions. Most of the puppets were made by Marlene Reimer of Stoney Creek. She is a master at her craft. Marlene ran a puppet-making workshop for St. Paul’s, so a number of our puppets have been custom made by members of our congregation.
The puppets perform at various times. They like to visit during Sunday morning worship to assist with the children’s story. They also like joining in whenever there are church-related events for children. Regardless of whether the puppets are teaching or just having fun, they are sure to bring a smile to your face.
Youth from Grade 4 and up are encouraged to participate in the puppet group. They meet once per month after church. The puppets participation in recent events included the Variety Show in April 2008, Rev. Paul’s retirement party in June, the Church School Christmas Party and a photo session at coffee hour on February 8th, 2009. The last two years they have entertained the members of Trinity United in north Oakville.
We would like to thank St. John’s United Church for helping us get our Puppet Ministry started by sharing their ideas. We would also like to thank the members of our church who have contributed to the Puppet Ministry.
