Summer Camps & Youth Retreats

All summer camps were a great success, a sincere thank-you to organizers, participants and volunteers!

Each summer, while the children are out of school, we offer summer camps. We have two camps in July, that offer the exact same curriculum and activities.

The dates for summer camps in 2020 will be announced in January. Both camps are for those children born in 2014-2009.

Our first week will include a preschool class, those born in 2015 & 2016.

Our second week will not include a preschool class. (Although this is being discussed.)

Youth leaders are those going into grade 7 (born in 2008) and up.  This is a quick way to get 40 volunteer hours and a great way to gain leadership skills.  All youth are strongly encouraged to attend our leadership and training overnight retreat, Friday July 12 & Saturday, July 13.  They will also need to apply by sharing what gifts and skills they bring to this position and share why they want to be a youth leader at VBS.

If you need financial assistance for camps, talk with Deborah.  We don't want to keep any child away because it is unaffordable.

PA Day Camps

Watch for our full day PA Day camps, where children will experiece engaging activities, fun games, healthy snacks, meet new and old friends, and know the love of God through the care of our volunteers. We accept preschool to grade four.  Grade five and up are welcome to attend as helpers and assistants and age 16 and up can lead workshops.

The cost is $15 a child and no more than $30 a family.  The price has increased to accommodate the hiring of high school students to help support the camp.

Watch for the 2019-20 schedule

Goals:

  • For children and families to understand their community through building relationships with other groups outside of our own.

  • To bring families together for an experience of faith and worship and mission.

  • To provide a mission and faith experience for families to have together.

  • For this experience to become an annual program, if the desire and need is present.
